Municipal Council

Avis important

PRESS RELEASE

Val-des-Monts, December 21, 2021 – This update follows up on Québec health minister Christian Dubé’s December 20 press conference, where he announced new measures to stem the spread of COVID-19 and the omicron variant.

MEASURES AFFECTING MUNICIPAL OPERATIONS IN VAL-DES-MONTS

MUNICIPAL OFFICES

Although most municipal employees are again working from home, our offices will remain open to the public until December 23, 2021, at 4:30 p.m. After, we close offices for the Holidays until January 2, 2022, inclusively.

Day-to-day operations will continue, but we encourage you to contact our staff by email or by telephone, or to use online services, if you need assistance at these hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. (excluding statutory holidays) by phone at 819-457-9400 or by email.

For staff contact information, click on the Contact Us tab on the Municipality's website (www.val des monts.net).

You can also send documents to the Municipality and apply for permits or other authorizations

  • via www.val-des-monts.net, under the tabs Online permit requests and Online request forms.
  • by regular mail at Municipality of Val des Monts, 1, route du Carrefour, Val des Monts (Québec) J8N 4E9.
  • by depositing your request in the mail chute near the main entrance of our municipal offices.

MUNICIPAL COUNCIL MEETINGS

With the Québec government announcing that all municipal council meetings must return to their online format (for both councillors and residents), the provisions of special By-law 2020-20 adopted on April 26, 2020, apply once again. This also means the Municipality must post or broadcast the sessions as quickly as possible after they take place.

HEALTH ORDERS AND GUIDELINES: A REMINDER

To reduce the spread of COVID-19, it’s important, now more than ever, that you follow the rules and recommendations issued by public-health authorities, including the need to wear masks in enclosed public spaces, to stay two metres away from others, and to wash your hands often.

For regular updates on the pandemic in the area, check Val-des-Monts’ Facebook page (www.facebook.com/valdesmonts), as well as the See all news section of the municipal website (www.val‑des‑monts.net).

If you need help dealing with the stress and anxiety brought on by the pandemic, we encourage you to call 811.
