Urban planning By-laws

Urban-planning policies, by-laws and regulations (zoning, permits, certificates, construction, land severance, etc.) are tools the Municipality uses to carefully manage how land under its jurisdiction is used, built on and occupied. They also bolster public safety, preserve the cleanliness of municipal land, foster good neighbourly relations, promote esthetic design, and preserve the quality and integrity of natural settings. Finally, this regulatory framework ensures that the Municipality can assess residents’ applications fairly and equitably.
