Built in November 2001, Val-des-Monts’ Sportium arena operates year-round and provides residents with an array of on-ice activities and related services, for instance :

  • figure skating club

  • minor hockey association

  • adult hockey leagues

  • ice rentals

  • free public skating

  • skate sharpening and rental

  • meeting room

Free public skating

You can now head to Sportium for free skating during the week.

No more than 25 people at a time are allowed. Neither companions nor spectators  are allowed inside as well.

• Children 10 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
• No hockey sticks are accepted.
• Wearing a helmet is compulsory for children 10 and under. However, we strongly recommend wearing a helmet for people of all ages.
• Skate rental is available on site.

Regular schedule

(valid until April 13, 2023 inclusively)

Monday: 5 p.m. to 6:20 p.m.
Wednesday: 9 a.m. to 9:50 a.m.
Thursday: 9 a.m. to 9:50 a.m.
Saturday: 7:30 p.m. to 8:50 p.m.
Sunday: 9:30 a.m. to 12:20 p.m.

Friday, March 10, 2023 : 1 p.m. to 3:20 p.m.

*Of special note: The skating schedule can vary because of tournaments, speed-skating competitions, figure-skating shows and statutory holidays. Check the daily events schedule regularly for possible changes or cancellations.

You can also check the public-skating schedule by following these steps:

  1. Go to the Sportium website by clicking on the link above.
  2. One on the home page, look for the Sportium logo and click on it.
  3. Once you’re on the Sportium page, under Daily Schedule click on Download.
  4. This opens a Word  document in which you can check the schedule by specific dates. Public skating hours appear in amber/orange.
